Sun N Fun Fly-In!

Is it a bird?? Is it a plane?? No, it's the Thunderbirds!!

(I think I could write a book full of all of my corny captions throughout my blogging career...No one would ever want for a ridiculously corny caption!)

"Daddy, can you buy me a Cessna for my birthday?"

Later we met up with the Pollocks and a couple of other families, and watched the night airshow!

By the end of the day, I didn't feel like taking pictures (I guess that just constitutes laziness, huh?) so I didn't....Callie, however, came to the rescue and took a few. ;)

Our newest "farming" attempt--bees! We've actually been apprenticing with/helping a gentleman who raises queens for a while now, so it isn't completely new--but when this swarm landed on our property we knew it was time to take a shot at it! With some equipment and helpful tips from the pros, Daddy and Margaret caught them and put them an a hive where they now happily reside.

Now, can't wait for that good Orange Blossom honey! {hopefully!}

Strawberry Time!

A farm right down the road had a strawberry U-Pick this year--$1.00/3qts. What a huge blessing! We went down and picked for a few hours on a couple different days.

Over the river and through the groves...a-strawberry pickin we go!

The orange groves are in full bloom--the air is full of them!

Here Is Home

Here is home, my blessed home.
Florida is her name.
God’s Providence has brought me here,
So here I will remain.

Such a sweet and sticky treat.

The land on which I've tromped and played,
The Spanish settlers roam'd.
They called this place the “Land of Flowers,”
And here they made their home.

When war broke out between the States,
We proved our loyalty
To the precious Southern cause,
For God and Liberty!

Some folks call us “Florida Crackers.”
I'm proud to hold that name.
My ancestors were proud as well,
To call themselves the same.
