--Snippets--

There's a bunch of stuff I haven't been able to post about lately due to lack of time, Picasa album space, etc...So I've chosen a few pictures from several different things and compiled them all into one big, long, boring post. Enjoy! :oD

FIRE!
Q: When you get Callie and Amanda together, what do you get?
A: FIRE :)
Wows...and what a fire! Yesssiree! :)

"Hello, my name is Ryan, and I'm here to help!" :oP
Cuteness :)
Mandy and Andy. :D (Corny enough??)

Ummm....No comment. :oP

RENDEZVOUS!

Us crazy, freezing cold Rendezvous-goers ;o)
Will loves the buffalo, bear, sheep, deer skins, etc. :) I think It'd make a lovely rug. :D
Ooops, Larry. What did you do now?? :oP

Well, I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but...oh well. It makes for a good picture. :)

~LOWRY PARK ZOO~

I think Mr Whatever-He-Is just puts the U in Ugly...Fo real.
CJ thinks so too....
My lovely Marmie. ;o)
Callie and I pose in front of one of our closest ancestors!! You're jealous, right? Yeah, I know. :)
"Okay, so the sign says I'm related to that...Ummm....help?
"That's what WE are here for!"
{Action! You're on the Air}
 "Hi, I'm Andrew."
 "I'm C.J."
"And I'm Margaret. We are here at the Lowry Park Zoo exploring the wonders of God's Creation."

Andrew: "Yes. We have come here to learn about the various kinds of animals through a Biblical, Creationist worldview!"
C.J.: "Now come and join us on our adventure as we refute evolution and give God the glory He deserves!"
{Cut}

(These are almost exactly their words...as well as I could remember them.
They recorded various other "scenes.") ;o)

Yay! Abby is having fun riding the preeetty horsey! :oD ;o)
My wonderful Granddaddy and so-cute-he's almost edible baby brother. :)

Hey there, bub! :)

"Feed the birds! Tuppence a bag..." ;o)
"Oooh! Biiirdy! Biiirdy! I want to grab it, squeeze it, and then suck on it's head!"
{You're on the air!}
Heeheehee. :D
Yes...my immature sense of humor is shining through. I laughed and snorted for five minutes cause I thought this was so funny. No, please don't laugh at me. Well...at least you can pretend you're laughing at the picture...

YOUTH FAIR!
We didn't show much of anything this year, but it's always fun to go down and see what everyone else entered. :)

Can you say obese?
Hogs being auctioned off.
The piggies lookin at all the piggies. :)

~BOK TOWER~

Love this little tree house made from old bamboo...I want one. ;o)

Umm...yeah, we all kinda lost our shoes...:)
(Really, shoes can be quite an inconvenience!)
 Sweet Cousins :)

More sweet cousins. :)
Lovely little sister. :):)
The lovely Matriarchs <3

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it:
and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony
of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever:
the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 19

  1. Lovely pics, Mar-Mar! So many fun memories all packed into one place! :D I *love* the really big picture of the fire....But I reckon that goes without saying, eh? ;o)

    Ahhh.....The Rendezvous...."Already checking me out?!" :P

And the Zoo.....So glad that Marg, CJ, and Andrew took it upon themselves to refute the evolutionists like that!! :D

Then there's Youth Fair..... THE event of the year! If anyone disbelieves that there are rednecks in Florida they just need to take a little stroll around the PCYF.... ;o)

Bok Tower is a beautiful place to visit.... I heartily agree that shoes are an inconvenience!

And last, but certainly not least, I adore Psalm 19.... <3

  3. Wonderful post, Mary! No need for an apology. You'll never know how special it is for me that y'all included your grandparents in most of these events. (And we could have been at the Rendezvous if we had wanted to freeze our toes off!)

Thanks for the good memories to the glory of God!

    Love,
    Grandmother

  5. Oh loved all the pictures, Mary! The Rendezvous looks like a whole lot of fun.. oh and the youth fair looks like it'd be a blast! :-D Youth Fair's probably like what our Moultrie Farm Expo is to us. ;-) The HIGHLIGHT of the year.
Haha! Oh I love the "Stinkpot Turtle". One of these days, I'm gonna name me a animal "stinkpot" ( I already call the goats that ;-). It's the joke that I call everything that annoys me stinkpot. ;-) I appreciate your humor.
Awww. "baby boy" sure is growin up fast... he's cute as ever!

Much love to all the Stricklens, and we hope you'll come visit us as soon as is possible. :-D

  6. Super pics, Mary! As usual. You must compile them all someday and make a book - seriously! The fire picture was magnificent and that brother of yours (CJ) makes the greatest faces!

Just loved little Nathaniel sitting with granddaddy. It just warmed my heart :)

Yes, PCYF, the Rendezvous, and Bok Tower - both marvelous Floridian institutions. Both very much missed by us, but not as much as the people in the pictures! Of course you captured the heart of the Rendezvous with the picture of the sign. "Randomness" is the name of the game there isn't it? ha ha

The U in ugly was right on! So funny! I enjoyed reading through Psalm 19. Thank you for putting it up there. What a blessing to reflect upon God's magnificent Creation and then for on to reflect upon His more magnificent Word.

    I love you sweetie.
